[PROGRESS REPORT] 1.3.5.4 Straight-To-Public and S2E4 Progress

Hey, all!

First, some updates. 1.3.5.1 has been the public build for a week or so. 1.3.5.2 and 1.3.5.3 contained compatibility changes on the backend for DLC characters and the Fantasies Collection add-on we're working on. 1.3.5.4 is combining all of this, plus several Quality of Life updates and some rewritten dialogue for Season 1 Episodes 1 through 3.

PC and Mac versions uploaded; waiting on Estrada's Android port, and then that'll be updated, too.

First, we've been asked to provide a way to turn off or soften the jumpscares in the game. That option has been added. You can now go into the main menu and turn the jumpscares off (though you'll have to close and reopen the game if you do that for it to actually work).

Second, I shored up the intro a bit, and realized that the last couple of builds were completely skipping my introduction. That's been added back in. I also removed a lot of the early perving, as I wrote that in based on assumptions I had 4 years ago about the AVN genre, its players, and what they wanted. I felt it was taking away from the story.

Third, there were some typos and wrong speaker tags that were fixed.

Lastly, I cleaned up a bit of the bitterness and negativity surrounding Ms. Clements and Aurum's thoughts about her. I feel like things make a lot more sense now.

Alright, now for progress on 1.4.0.0, the next Main Story update:

We're nearly halfway done with this next Main Story update. Most of the slow part has been figuring out how to code some specific mechanics this Episode has, as this is going to be an extremely important part of Aurum's story and there are some major lessons he needs to learn. With all that coding out of the way, this last half should progress pretty quickly and end up in the Supporter pipeline by the end of January if not sooner. I, personally, have been getting a TON of work done, between the Senia DLC, the Fantasies Collection Add-on, and the base WCA game.  Having multiple things to cycle through helps a ton, as when I get stuck, I can just swap to a different project within WCA now.

Anyways, the more time I spend typing this, the less time I'm working on WCA, so back I go.

Maybe you can add some mild character customization to the game

I dunno how I'd do that. Any changes to a character, and I'd have to shoot a whole new version of the same scene with that customization on. So 1 customization would double the workload, as I'd have to shoot each scene twice. 2 customizations would force us to shoot 3 versions of each scene, etc. So unfortunately that's not realistic unless we dial back to like 2 updates per year, and I'm trying to get us down to monthly updates.

and this is why suggestions are called suggestions and thank you for taking the time to reply back to me and I really didn't mean to double your workload I'm sorry keep up the good work I love the game and it's great although I hope there's a way to save everybody in this game because I'm starting to grow attached with some of the characters and another suggestion maybe add some voice acting although that would probably be even harder and more work

Hey I'm always open to suggestions! And as far as voice acting goes... be sure you get through every Side Story. You'll find a surprise in someone's 5th scene :)
