[PROGRESS REPORT] Windows Can Eat Me

Hi. Progress report. Do I sound angry? 'cause I'm angry.

Alright, we woulda had more progress except that one scene took me all goddamn night and part of the next day. And that's because it had 112 shots, some of which ended up as video loops. Oh, but that's not the kicker. While renaming the default names of the images, I realized I'd screwed up and needed to undo that. So I did what any sensible person (I thought) would do. I hit CTRL+Z.

AND 30 OF MY MOST COMPLICATED SHOTS DISAPPEARED. I assume due to name conflicts. Which means they didn't go to the Recycle Bin. And wouldn't you know it, I had File History for my folders turned off.  So I ran Recuva and what do ya know... it didn't find them.

So I had to shoot those 30 shots all over again. I am now in the habit of copying all the shots to another folder and renaming them inside that folder only. I am not letting this happen again.

ANYWAYS... we've decided to do something different with this episode. We will, of course, be delivering the whole episode at once, but we realized that there are 10 Free Time opportunities in this episode, and most of you will have already gone through all of the available Free Time content... so we decided to do at least 10 Free Time scenes and ship them with this episode in the same build. That way, there will be at least 1 new scene in every Free Time opportunity, even if you've finished all the Side Story scenes in 1.4.5.0.

Despite my difficulties, this scene is gonna be NUTS. Can't wait for you guys to play it.

That's all for now. Will be back again soon with more updates.

Better use Linux with the btrfs file system, which provides automatic snapshots. You will never lose any data.

I would love to learn how to use Linux someday. As it is, I have no idea how to get into it. I also don't know if any of my programs, like the one I use to pose my stuff, would work in Linux, as I hear compatibility is an issue.

As far as were to get it https://linuxmint.com/  This is a free linux distribution. Install it on a thumb drive and run it from there till you get used to it. I'm doing that myself atm to learn linux.

If you want to use the same programs you can always use a windows emulator like wine.

Sorry about your problems. I'd hate to have to redo all my work, too.

Thankfully it wasn't ALL of it, but 30 out of 112 shots/videos felt agonizing, especially since it was a fight scene lol
