Build 2 Progress Report - Gallery, Dossiers, and More

Hi, all! The overwhelming amount of attention this project is getting has my mind absolutely blown. Over 15 thousand of you have put eyes on it. 3.5k have downloaded. At least 486 have finished it and delivered feedback via the Google Form. And 178 of you have followed the project as of this posting.

This is insane to me, and honestly far more than I ever thought would happen. I severely underestimated this community. But this has shown me how much people love this game, and I've decided to take it seriously and focus some attention every day on creating updates.

Worlds' Crossing Academy is now an ongoing project rather than just a Proof of Concept demo. Thank you all for showing me how much this game means to you.

Now! For the juicy stuff!

In the last update, I talked about Quality of Life changes. Lots of them are in the works, but one of them I failed to mention. In WCA, there are a lot of black screens that force you to make another click. Those are all being edited to auto-forward after one second, and it feels so much smoother.

The Lewds Gallery, by cuckoo4cocoapuffs, has been implemented, and the only thing we're ironing out now is the music. Here's a preview of what it looks like!

We still have to iron out a bug with the music, but it should be fully functional soon.

Not only that, but we've also managed to implement a working Character Dossier system where you can view information about the girls.

It looks cool and all, but it's going to take a TON of variables and setup, which in turn will take a TON of time. And that ton of time will end up being taken away from the development of the actual content, which I've decided is not a good idea. So I made a decision. These new features, as excited as I am about them, will likely remain works in progress and be unavailable during the next couple of builds in order to keep constant and consistent updates to the story content going, because that's what everyone tells me they want. More story. More time with their favorite girls. Ways to skip the girls they're not interested in. And THAT will remain my priority.

So, to that end, the planning phase of Build 2 is already finished. It will be Tuesday through Sunday of the second week, so six days of story. That's not to say inspiration won't take me and I won't add extra scenes, because that happens quite often when I'm in StudioNEO and have the character's models right in front of me. Much of the writing of several of the scenes is already done as well. Very soon, I will begin posing and capturing the scenes, and then scripting and scoring them. After that comes the file conversion and renaming, and when that's done, I'll have a brand new build to upload for you.

I take player feedback EXTREMELY seriously. And in this episode of Popularity Weekly, there are four girls who are CLEAR CUT favorites out of the group. I'll be making sure they get some extra screen time in this next build. Speaking of player feedback, here's an important graph from the feedback form:

The question was, "What do you want to see more of in the next build?" And it is very clear where the priorities lie. I'll say I'm a tiny bit disappointed, as I have some AMAZING new characters for you to meet, but I also do want to deliver something that satisfies the audience. Now, this will all happen at my discretion, of course. For me, the story quality and the feeling you get when you interact with the characters and how REAL they feel to you is my top concern. So I won't be sacrificing story quality just to let you bang someone if the timing doesn't feel right. BUT. I will be including more opportunities for lewd scenes in the next build as well as exploring some of the characters' stories.

That's all for now! Thank you all for your feedback and your patience! I still have a lot to learn when it comes to Ren'Py so bear with me!
