[PROGRESS REPORT] Getting Ready to Throw Down


Hey all! Progress Report time!

Slowly but surely, we're getting there. Half of my struggle has been with the modeler that's doing Elowyn and Aurum's models from scratch. I mean, for fuck's sake, this doesn't even look like Aurum.


The team has, unfortunately, been in and out of extreme burnout, so things are going a lot slower than we'd like. The main hangup is this fight scene. I REALLY do not want to hand pose and shoot stills for this fight like I did with Willy. That took forever. But I'm also having significant difficulty finding a 3D modeler who can replicate Aurum and Elowyn from scratch. That, and I have 2 more Rebirth scenes to do, and I'm not sure what approach I should take. On one hand, I don't want to just swap the models and repeat the same little music video for each. On the other, I don't want people to feel like the two characters involved were robbed just because Nook had her ceremony first. And creating an entirely new video for each is way too much work and would push the next release back a month or more.

I have some ideas on how to solve this issue with a sort of middle ground. Still stewing on it, though.

I wish I could give a release date for the next patch, but having to fight with the modeler who cannot admit that he is clearly not skilled enough to deliver what I want is draining. If I put this model into a fighting game and recorded clips with it, it would be glaringly obvious that it wasn't Aurum. And I don't wanna break immersion like that. 

So I'mma keep fighting with him. Please, dear god, somebody tell me you know a modeler who can recreate this model accurately.

My personal opinion is that I'm willing to wait longer for a better product. I don't say that to dismiss the work that would be involved, just that I'm ok waiting. This is by far my favorite NSFW game.

Well, I discovered a plugin that allows me to use MMD motion data and just... PLAY it in the scene, so making these may end up being FAR simpler than I thought it might be. I just have to find motion data that matches what I'm looking to shoot.
