[PROGRESS REPORT] A Small Hiccup and Rewrite Progress
Right. So. I'm not gonna mince words. This has been a ROUGH fuggin month.
Household was swept with a flu, and temps outside dropped to 15F (that's -9.5C for you cultured people). As a result, all of my roomies and I missed a bit of work. Also had surprise vet bills for my cat, whom we almost lost to a massive UTI. And on top of that, the Patreon and SubscribeStar are at about 3/4 what I'm used to, likely because of the holidays.
Putting all that together, there's been a bit of a financial crisis, and I've been forced to take extra shifts these past few weeks, which of course results in me spending less time on the game. I apologize for that, but ey, survival comes first. I will be continuing to take extra shifts throughout the coming weeks and probably through February, so progress on the game will likely slow a bit.
HOWEVER. Despite that, I've still managed to get two key things done in preparation for the Rewrite of Season 1.
First:
The architecture for including both Seasons in the same game is built and being bugtested.
Second:
The roster organization is complete. I did a ton of work replacing the characters I mistakenly included before I had the story fully set up, and Necromedes has contributed more than a few of his wonderful designs to the updated roster.
Now all we gotta do is write 'em.
Next thing we're working on doing is delivering a Side Story-centric update. We're planning on 4 main story scenes and at least 9 Side Story scenes for you to sink your teeth into while we're working on the rest of the main story. The 2 updates following this one will be VERY main story heavy. Following that nice little cliffhanger, the rewrite and repackaging of the entire game will be our priority. It's been expressed many times that the intro to Season 1 is turning a lot of players off before they even get into the meat and bones of the game, and that's a shame. I've thankfully figured out how I'm gonna solve that issue, and identified a number of scenes that can either be cut or be spaced out to later in the season.
All I ask is your patience. I'm not sure why the Patreon and SubscribeStar funding has dropped so sharply, especially after beginning to update the game more frequently. I'm thinking it's probably due to the holidays, and hoping it's not because of the game itself. Really hope to see it pick back up so I don't need to work so much and can spend more time on WCA for y'all.
Also here. Enjoy. I post test renders in the Discord every so often, and here's the latest batch.
Until next time!
-Vic

Vic, don't worry about it; your health and survival are far more important than a little game. As long as we get some kind of progress report or update, all is good. Even if you have to full stop for a short period, just let us know. Most of us will understand, even if it may not be what we want to hear. And anyone who starts getting all Karen about it can go fuck themselves with a scaffold pole.
